1 pound lost

Finished my first full week on the walkstation - lost one pound last week just walking and no dieting - mu gopal is five miles a day - when I first started I kept the spped at about .7 to 1.1 miles per hour - now unless I am doing computer work that requires the mouse to be used a great deal I am keeping it at max which is 2.0 MPH..Yesterday and today I did 5 miles on it. My pedometer says I walked 6.76 miles today which includes the walking I do around off the treadmill station. Have really had to cool down my office to 65 degrees or I get unbearably hot and smelling like a dead goat at work is not something I want to do.

Ran between offices today and had my normal boots on. It was just too much trouble to put on and take off tennis shoes. The bottoms of my feet hurt.

I put a US map up in my office and am tracking my distance across America.

Have you kept it up? Just wondering as I'm considering the idea. I've read mostly glowing reports but your's seems to be more critical.

Did you pay for it yourself, or did your office pay for it? I tried to buy one myself--my office will not pay for it--and was disgusted by how Details/Steelcase markets these things. Basically, you can only buy it from dealers, and the dealers all have agreements not to compete with each other--each has a monopoly (or close to it) in their geographical region. End result: The baseline model would cost well over $4000. Steelcase issued a press release last year that they were going to market a consumer model, and sell it at a big box retailer, but as far as I can tell that never happened.
